  • Time-of-flight Range Image Sensor Based on Exposure Coding with a Multi-aperture Imaging System

    A three-dimensional measurement scheme based on a time-of-flight method using a multi-aperture image capturing system is proposed. Temporal coding of exposure time for each aperture is individually provided by equipping an electronic shutter controller for every sub block of a pixel array in an image sensor. The measurement frequency is enhanced by capturing multiple temporally coded images simultaneously. The results of preliminary experiments for confirming measurement of the phase of optical signal modulated at a higher frequency than the frame rate of the image sensor are presented.

    3次元立体表示技術は,直感的に3次元情報の構造を理解することができ,将来の映像情報インターフェイスとして期待されている.さらに,何もない空中に画像を形成すると,表示物体に対する現実感が増し,3次元像を直接的にポインティングデバイスや手で操作する新しいインターフェイスが実現できる可能性がある.ここで紹介する体積表示技術は,実際に3次元的な光の分布を作ることで像を形成するので,自然な立体感を得ることができる.また,空中像を形成するために再帰性反射に基づく空中3次元像形成技術に関する研究開発例として,2面コーナーリフレクタアレイと傾斜回転ミラースキャナを用いた体積走査ディスプレイシステムと,再帰性反射結像で生じる像のボケを軽減する技術に関して述べる.

    従来のレンチキュラシートによる裸眼立体視技術は,像の表示位置をディスプレイから離すに従って像にボケが大きくなり,さらに,観察位置の移動に従って像も移動するため,空中像に対して直接指示して操作を行うようなインタラクティブ性をもつディスプレイには不向きである.そこで,本論文では2面コーナーリフレクタアレイと組み合わせることで,比較的単純な構成で立体像を空中の定位置に形成する手法を提案する.視差方式の3次元ディスプレイの欠点である輻輳と調節の矛盾も緩和することができる.また,人の手の動きを感知するセンサを組み合わせることで,空中像と人との間でインタラクションが可能となり,より直感的なインターフェイスを実現することができる.

    The image-capturing method with higher temporal sampling rate than frame rate of the image sensor using rolling shutter and compound eye imaging system is proposed. Although the pixel resolution of each images captured compound-eye image capturing system are decreased, it is possible to retrieve the spatial resolution from multiple low-resolution images on the basis of super-resolution processing. Appropriate spatial resolution and temporal resolution adaptable for movement in the scene can be provide by segmenting static regions and dynamic regions. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by experiments of enhancement of temporal resolution and restoration of spatial resolution based on super-resolution technique using a prototype of the compound-eye imaging system.

    In a conventional autostereoscopic display with a lenticular sheet, blurring of a three-dimensional (3D) image increases as the depth distance of the 3D image from the display increases. In addition, the 3D image position changes depending on observing position. In this report, we propose an aerial 3D display combined multiview dispay with a lenticular sheet and floating image formation with a dihedral corner reflector array. This method can form a 3D image at a fixed position in the air with the simple composition. By combining a motion sensor for human hands, the interaction between an aerial image and a user is allowed, and an intuitive interface can be achieved.
