    日本社会の高齢化や健康ブームなどと相まって、寿命延伸に対する欲求が高まっている。昨今の研究において寿命の決定機構はヒトから酵母まで共通性があると指摘されている。本研究では、ヒトの細胞レベルでの寿命・老化研究に適したモデル生物である出芽酵母を用いて、寿命延伸効果が見いだされている梨幼果抽出液添加による寿命延長、特に経時寿命に着目して研究を行った。RT-PCRによる解析の結果、梨幼果抽出液による寿命延長にはSIR関連遺伝子に加えてVHR1およびVHR2遺伝子の活性が寿命延伸に関与している可能性が示された。
